Nakupenda Sandbank
Tour Overview
The word "Nakupenda" means "I Love You" in Swahili, and you will certainly fall in love with this spectacular sandbank. Located just off the coast of Stone Town, this shifting island of pure white sand emerges from the turquoise ocean every day at low tide. This is the ultimate "castaway" experience. You will be whisked away by boat to this pristine location where a private shade tent will be set up for you. Spend your morning swimming in the shallow, warm waters or snorkeling around the edges of the sandbank where tropical fish dart through the currents. While you relax, our chefs prepare a lavish seafood buffet right on the sand, featuring freshly grilled lobster, prawns, calamari, and fish, accompanied by tropical fruits and chilled drinks. There are no buildings, no roads, and no crowds—just the sound of the waves and the feeling of the sun on your skin. As the tide begins to rise again in the afternoon, you will sail back toward the historic skyline of Stone Town, carrying the memory of a perfect day spent in one of nature’s most beautiful creations.
